Merchants & Performers

A large part of the joy that flows throughout a faire is build by our merchants and our performers. Because we are a different type of faire (not traditional renaissance faire and not traditionally fairy festival either) we will be making selections accordingly. Should you be interested in applying to participate at our event in April 2026, please know that we are looking for those who have a genuine passion for the different realms we are hosting. Merchants and Performers will by highly curated. We will be looking for some specific things so please read the sections below completely before applying. Some merchants are being specifically invited to apply after being seen in-person by leadership team members. We will only be opening to 30-40 merchants for the first year so as to ensure that each merchant thrives in our unique environment. Applications are expected to be opened for remaining spaces in late autumn. Please fill 0ut your applications in a detailed fashion.
For merchants, specifically, please understand that for the first few years, we intend to cap the number of merchants at a lower number in order to ensure that each merchant thrives with us. More merchants with the same amount of money coming through the gate with our patrons means less money spent per merchant on average. The math and business model along with the vast years of experience our board has helps us see this as vital to a sustainable, healthy, and lasting launch.
Merchants
The five areas (or Realms) that we will have this first year include the following to help you better understand how you may fit into our flow:
-
Light Fae: The Enchanted Wylds (think wine and feasting and elegance - ethereal more than tea-party)
-
The Dark Fae: The Shadow Wylds (Think cottage core and darker)
-
Storybook, RobinHood: Nottinghamshire (Medieval forests and courtyards)
-
Seafaring, Vikings: Nordheim (furs and shields, battles and talk of the gods)
-
1890's Circus: The Infinite Imaginarium (Red and Yellow with all the classic ideas of the circus with a slight bent towards steampunk- This will also serve as a food court)

The Board is currently discussing the fees for booths at different sizes and we will post those fees as soon as they are confirmed.

Booths will be juried based on:
-
Their specific alignment with one of our five areas listed above
-
The decorative level of the booth - the more it looks like it belongs in that time/place, the better (undecorated booths will not be considered). The amount of knowledge they have of the items they are selling and how they would have been used in that selected society.
-
The garb selected by those who will be working at the booth - this should be in line with both the look of the booth and the realm it is requesting to be in.
-
Items being made/sold need to align with the realm. Fairy wings are not appropriate to sell in the Viking area nor are batons to be sold in the light fae when those are very much circus. Please refrain from applying to sell tchotchkes and mass produced items. This is intended to be more of a medieval maker's market feeling. The only exception to this may be some items in the circus area that would have been sold in the 1890's such as batons, marbles or tin whistles.
-
Duplicity; we will not be selecting many, if any, duplicate types of vendors, especially in the same realm, while we are in our first three years.
-
Ability to follow the instructions provided and completeness of application.

-
The period-appropriate look & sound of the person/group (modern dress and styles will not be considered). The amount of knowledge they have of the content they are presenting and how it fit in those societies too.

Ability to follow the instructions provided and completeness of application

Things to know: We will be asking for a price range. We would like to know what your "going rate" is but also how much you would need to make working with us this first year an option. We are raising all of these funds - it is not a grant or a wealthy person sponsoring it alone. Every dollar you do not request is gift to the faire-family who work with you at other shows all summer long too. We do, genuinely, want to swiftly get to your going rate because we believe you are worth that investment. Will you consider the investment in us as we get this faire going?
